June 22nd: Aix-les-Bains to Dijon
Giles and Guilhem wished us safe travels in the morning as we left the car park. We drove along the lake and out into the countryside. The views of the rolling green hills and old villages were spectacular. Our last regularity was the hardest one we’ve ever done with 5 speed changes and multiple nagivation points. We stayed on the ball the whole time and came out with only 1 second of penalty! We arrived in Dijon a short time after and met with everyone at the hotel bar. Today was the last day of competition so the spirits were high and there was a shared sense of relief. It’s amazing we’ve made it this far, or even out of China at all. We explored the downtown of Dijon, grabbing some mustard and nice wine, before dinner and bed. Tomorrow is our last day of the rally, we only drive 300km to arrive in Paris.
