May 23rd: Tengger to Jiayuguan

We awoke today looking forward to the hotel later that night. Two days of camping in sand and driving in the heat makes dusty men. Unfortunately there was an accident with one of the competitors at the sporting time control so they cancelled the route and sent us directly to the hotel. I met a some car enthusiasts in the parking lot later that night in Jiayuguan. This city is a strong contender for the friendliest and most welcoming in China. The people were amazing.
