May 29th: Urumqi to Forest Park

We left our lovely executive suite in the Hilton to head out to the countryside once again. The rolling hills outside of Urumqi are the first time we’ve seen grass since leaving Canada. Our regularity went amazingly well as we managed to get through the herds of sheep and cows before they fully eneveloped the road.

After the hills we took the highways east to our campsite: a beautiful gentle slope overlooking miles of green fields framed by mountains. Certainly the best one we’ve been to by far.

The night was short but full of great conversation and followed by a restful sleep.
